Hi! I’m the co-founder and head of creative at Salt Lake City–based agency Black Koles. Depending on the project, I serve as a creative director, director, director of photography, or photographer. Most of my work is in the commercial space, which I genuinely love, but I’m especially drawn to documentary work, character-driven stories, and projects with a strong sense of place and purpose.
In my personal work, I’m drawn to overlooked, in-between landscapes — places that sit outside conventional ideas of beauty, where human use, decay, weather, and the natural world create a different kind of presence. Rooted in a slower, more spontaneous process, my work reflects a sustained attention to observation, atmosphere, and details often disregarded.
